Kiba stepped onto the grounds that haunted her very soul. She walked carefully onto the rough black rocks that surrounded her brother's living, not worrying about what might be around her. She barely made it to the entrance of the cave before Lokken stepped out.
"Lokken, we need to talk." "What do we have that we need to talk about?" "You know why I'm here." "Forgive me that I'm not psychic like you are." "I'm not psychic, I am telepathic, and I just happen to read minds." "Well, I didn't get that end of the deal." "It's not a deal! That's your problem, you think this is all just a big game, and it's not. When will you learn that, brother?" "Brother? Brother? How dare you call me that. I am of no kin to you." "You are my birth brother, and we grew up together. Though that means nothing to you, it does me. I want her back." "She wasn't yours." "She belongs with me." "Under who's law?"
Kiba and Lokken's conversation was interupted by Jose, snarling at Kiba. "I can't believe it, your majesty, the wanna-be-angel has arrived. Can I get the first bite?" Jose barked at Kiba, his teeth glaring widely. He was ready for Lokken to kill her so that the war would be over and they would prove to be dominant. Kiba did not react.

Kani was walking back to his own little bed when voices distracted him. He had just walked past Lokken's dungeon. He heard Jose's voice, yelling something about the wanna-be-angel. Kani's eyebrow rose on his head, and he turned to see what was going on.
When he saw the white Fane, he chuckled. "I thought I heard something about an angel. Turns out it's just a bitch. What do you think of our new recruit, Kiba? I think she fits in pretty well, don't you, Jose?" Kani's sandy shoulder bumped Jose's, a dangerous smirk on his face. He snapped his teeth at Kiba, as a simple warning as to how lucky she was to be alive since she was on Lokken's turf.

Lokken chuckled deviously as his two best followers entered his dungeon, mocking Kiba.
"Yea, Kani, you're right. She is just a bitch, thinkin' she's better than our Lanion," Jose replied. He snarled and snapped at Kiba, purposely missing her neck by an inch.
Kiba stood still, not affected by Kani and Jose trying to make a mockery out of her. She knew better than to attack them, for this was their land - for the time being.
Lokken continued their conversation, though Kiba wanted it to be a private one.
"Now, where were we? Aw yes, you want Kariah, right?" "Lokken, it's time you learned the truth. The truth is, you're not in good shape to run this land. You've no idea the responsibility you must take on, and you haven't done that yet. You're letting this place go downhill, and your prey is decreasing. Do you not understand that you are what is causing this problem, because you are not taking care of it properly?" "You think you're doing a better job than I? You don't even know the basics of hard living. Everyone respects you when you're present, but you know they're really talking mocking you when you're not near them. I, on the other hand, trust my pack, and I know where my loyalties lie." "I thought you weren't psychic." Kiba smirked as she added a sarcastic comment, which was highly unlike her. However, she was growing tired of listening to Lokken's rants, for he thought he knew everything, and in reality, he knew nothing.
Jose growled as the Fane accused the Lanion of being ignorant, and it was all he could do to keep from tearing her apart right there, but he knew that Kiba had powers beyond him, and she could kill him with one look if she wanted to. Besides, Lokken may not want his sister dead yet, for he may have a plan, like he always does, about how he wants things done, and Jose didn't feel like taking another beating from his majesty.

Kani growled alongside Jose, smirking. "What's the matter, babe? You afraid to defend yourself without your weakling pack?" He lowered his head and his hackles rose. He took on a threatening stance, a satisfied smirk still plastered on his face. He laughed quietly, knowing that Kiba had put herself right in a trap if Lokken gave the word.

Kiba glared at Kani for a few seconds, as if she was studying his thoughts. She suddenly gasped, but she did not explain why. She then, however, replied to his snide remark.
"Kani, if I were you, I would watch my step. You have no idea of our true strength. No, I am not scared without my pack, it is just that I did not come here to start trouble. I came to speak with my brother," Kiba paused, then added with an emphasis, "alone." "What's wrong, Kiba? Afraid they might tell the others you were here?" Lokken laughed, for he didn't mind Jose and Kani being here, this time. "Whatever you have to say, you can say in front of them." Kiba glanced at Kani, then at Jose, then directed her attention back to Lokken. "Very well, then," she gave in. "Kariah belongs with me, no matter her pedigree. You know I am right, Lokken. Just hand her over to me now, I will take her and leave, and you will have one of mine shortly. Call it a trade, if you will. Otherwise, there may be trouble." Lokken snarled at his sister, "Just what trouble could you cause me?" "I never said I would be the one causing the trouble, Lokken."
Jose was baffled by this conversation, but he never let his guard down. Kiba knew something none of them did, and he wanted to know what it was. His mouth was open, teeth showing viciously, and he was growling during their chat. What kind of trade could she possibly want, and how long would it take? Though he knew better than to speak now, he still wanted to have his input, for he had many unanswered questions. And what did she mean when she was talking to Kani? How dare she threaten him. He would get her back for this, without the Lanion knowing, and he would inform Kani of his plan, as well. Surely Lokken wouldn't let Kiba get away with this.

Kani chuckled, appearing unfazed by Kiba's remark. She might have thought her pack was strong, but Kani could see the weakness in it. They were all peacemakers, quakers. They didn't have a chance. He rolled his eyes when he realized that Kiba wanted Kariah. But he stayed silent, glancing at Jose for a moment.
